Friday TV

Kitchen Nightmares - S04E04 - "Revisited #1"

Nice little reunion show. But way too many clips from previous episodes. No shock that Bazzini's is closed after how horrible that Chef/owner was. 6/10

Star Wars The Clone Wars - S03E17 - "Ghosts of Mortis"

Yet to Watch N/R

Fringe - S03E13 - "Immortality"

Nice to go back to the other side and see Charlie and Fauxlivia again. Interesting story with the beetle but it was mainly used as a plot device to trick everyone into Fauxlivia's being poisoned.

It was pretty obvious she was pregnant as soon as they busted out the ultrasound. I'm okay with the storyline, sort of, but at least it gains some sympathy for Fauxlivia. It also makes it more difficult now for Peter to choose which side to save. With the entire show now in jeopardy due to ratings, it will be interesting to see if the season ends with a series conclusion or open-ended for a season 4.

I also liked how Walternate refused to operate on children. 7/10

Spartacus Gods of the Arena - S01E04 - "Behind the Mask"

Another great episode with some great writing. It's finally revealed what has caused Lucretia to turn from a simple wife to a mean and vengeful woman in "Blood and Sand." The death of Gaia, while predictable, will have interesting consequences as this 6 part series comes to a close.

I am more interested in the death of Gannicus and Melitta. There lack of appearance in "Blood and Sand" should result in horrible deaths for both of them. Compound that now with the fact that Gannicus is in love with Melitta, will only create a more messy situation that is sure to add drama.

With only two episodes left, a lot needs to be covered and blood will definitely be spilled. I can't wait. 8/10

Thursday TV

Community - S02E15 - "Early 21st Century Romanticism"

Wasn't that big of a fan of this episode. The only thing really memorable about it was watching Brita make out with another girl. Jeff's side plot that turned into a party at his place was a dud, as was Pierce's drugs making him go insane. Troy and Abed's attempts to date the librarian provided few laughs. Damn, what a shame. 7/10

The Office - S07E16 - "PDA"

I actually enjoyed this episode. It's probably because it brings back memories of when the Office was funny -- some of my favorite episodes involved Holly and Michael. Their nonstop kissing and hugging, and sitting on the same chair was pretty amusing. Everything seemed tighter this episode, and most of the jokes were hits than misses. Great effort. 8/10

The Big Bang Theory - S04E15 - "The Benefactor Factor"

Weird episode that had Leonard making out with Jessica Walter and then later having sex with her off screen. It was somewhat amusing seeing Leonard do the walk of shame, but most of the humor fell flat. Sheldon's reactions were chuckle worthy, but not much else was entertaining. My biggest complaint with this show, is that it often seems like the episodes always end so abruptly; Sheldon running off with projector, the Iphone App, and now the fallout with Leonard's prostitution. 6/10

Top Chef - S08E09 - "Feeding Fallon"

Carla is nuts. But we all knew that already :) She has 3 challenges now, which is amazing. She is a great underdog who is a lot more dangerous now than she was in her previous season. I was really pulling for Angelo to win, but maybe Carla is more "fun for TV" than Angelo? The bottom three were Fabio, Tiffany, and once again Dale. Heading into the end, I was certain it was going to be Tiffany who hasn't really performed well this season. However, it was Fabio who took the fall. Fabio is great TV, but I never really found him to be a great chef. I'll miss his one liners and fobby pronunciations, until the reunion show! 8/10

Modern Family - S02E14 - "Bixby's Back"

It's year two for the Dunphy family Valentine's Day and I was more than happy to see Clive Bixby return. Last year was hilarious with Claire getting her robe caught in the escalator. This year, was a little more predictable - with Phil taking the wrong keycard and ending up in the wrong hotel room naked. Phil had some great moments, especially when he was driving scooter in the restaurant and kissing Claire in the bar then spitting out her drink into a cup. He also had the line of the night, "I'm usually pretty good at catching things from women in bars." Meanwhile, Cameron and Mitchell had their spat on which one gay guys were lusting over. That was only mildly funny, and the Jay/Gloria & Manny/Haley were just there and provided no laughs. Claire was looking absolutely stunning in this episode though! Definitely, not a shame! 8/10

Southland - S03E06 - "Cop or Not"

WTF? No seriously.... WTF? I don't get it. Why did the writers have to make John gay? I have nothing against gay people, I just don't see the point. John is one of the best characters on the show, and his struggles with the pain addiction and bad back now all have a new meaning :P But seriously, can't we just watch a show without someone always being gay? ugh. The murder of the week was a rather dull case, with the majority of it going towards Adams and her supposedly leaked photos to the media, and the repercussions that may come from it. It seemed rather obvious that the show was hinting that Russ was the one who did it, as he's in need of the money more than anyone. Hopefully they'll run with this side plot and it actually ends up being Adams who did it!

Also this was our first time seeing Sammy since Nate was killed a couple episodes ago. I'm not a fan of his storyline regarding his ex-wife Tammy. Fortunately she's been given limited screen time since the move to TNT. Thank the heavens for a lower budget :) Now that we find out he's the father - it will be interesting to see if he'll still pursue the gangsters that killed his partner. After all, now that he'll be a father maybe he'll realize being alive to provide for his kid will be more important than revenge? Either way, Sammy's path post-Nate will be the most intriguing part of this season. But still... John being gay? Damn... what a shame! 8/10
